New documentary: How should Germany deal with its dependencies from China?

For a long time, good political relations with China have facilitated the China business of many German companies. The national economy has profited from economic relations with the People's Republic. However, China has economically caught up. Both economies increasingly compete over similar market segments. Germany depends on Chinese technology and critical imports. ZDF journalists Elisabeth Schmidt, Thomas Reichart and Diana Zimmermann ask how Germany should deal with these dependencies in their new documentary aired as "ZDF auslandsjournal - Dokumentation" on 25 October 2023. I have had the honor to contribute with some comments.
